Curriculum

Karter Preparatory Academy utilizes High Scope curriculum which is a research-based and child-centered curriculum for the toddlers, two, three and four-year-olds.

INFANT-2 YEARS

Children of this age group will be exposed to as much of a curriculum as is developmentally appropriate and explore the world around them through play, active learning, and discovery. The following are content areas that our students will engage in on a regular basis:

Our Georgia Pre-K program will focus on the GA standards which is the recommended curriculum for the State of Georgia. Our mathematics, reading, literacy/language, science and social studies contents and reading selection will be adopted from the state’s curriculum.

PRESCHOOL 3-4 YEARS

Children in preschool will engage in High Scope curriculum which emphasizes a curriculum that is child directed and focuses on active play, experiential learning, and home school connection. Our 4-year-old will undergo a pre-assessment before they begin learning which is designed to measure what they know when they enter our preschool class and will take same assessment at the end of our program to measure growth frequently. Growth data will be communicated to parents. The preschool content areas are listed below:

SUMMER CAMP 5-12 YEARS

During the summer months, children participate in a variety of planned activities such as arts, crafts, painting, gardening, outdoor play, and off-campus field trips to museums, science interactive, and puppetry arts centers.
